The 4th time I used the self clean on my wall oven RBS245PDS, the thermal fuse blew. The repair service wanted over $200 to repair, charging over $60 for the fuse itself (I found several on the internet for under $40).

ConsumerSearch review updated April 2010 even mentions this problem: However, several owners say that the Whirlpool RBS245PRQ, which has a one-year warranty, blew a [thermal] fuse when they tried to use the self-cleaning feature. See: http://www.consumersearch.com/wall-oven-reviews/best-wall-ovens.

This also appears to be common for KitchenAid ovens, also made by Whirlpool.

We just self cleaned our GBS279 oven for the first time and now when we turn it own, we set the temp, press start and it sounds like it is running but then display goes to Lo and doesn't heat.

My family owns a whirlpool oven (model # GBS307). Our oven is 4 years old and has been working perfectly until recently.

We used the auto clean option and suddenly, the oven won't heat up. I searched for a solution on the internet and came to know that this is a very common problem. How am I supposed to exactly fix the problem? I don't know if it was a thermal fuse blowout, a bad thermal fuse, damaged thermostat, or something different entirely.

Please help! I don't know what to do.
