I purchased a Whirlpool electric dryer. The weld broke on the drum after less than 3 years use, resulting in the drum rubbing against the chassis.

Contacted Whirlpool. Their response: a canned load of rubbish about quality standards. Yet they only stand behind their product for 1 year. For a $900 dryer, it was a poor response.

We are empty nesters so the dryer was only getting light use. So I'm done with Whirlpool. I won't by another Whirlpool appliance (Branded or OEM). It is a pity as I want to support a US company.

But I expect value for money - and I did not get that from Whirlpool. And Whirlpool showed no interest or inclination to even offer to meet me half way on the estimated $500 replacement of the drum.

Monetary Loss: $900.
