June 2012 paid $700 for Whirlpool 24 Gold Series dishwasher. 1) March 2014 the soap dispenser door started opening about a minute after starting the dishwasher.
Shouldn't open until first full wash cycle starts. Needed a control unit. 2) Then the pump stopped draining water out of the tub. Shockingly, the original pump had 2 "propellers" on it!
The replacement has a circle of blades, which SHOULD have been the original design. Basically, it was designed to fail and require replacement very early in the appliance's life. The $413 cost of repairs means I have an $1100 dishwasher that may be worth $300. Made in U.S.A.
Ha! If I were a leader at Whirlpool, the lack of quality in this appliance would embarrass me.
If Whirlpool adopted a quality initiative, their customer service policies wouldn't have to be full of denial and deception. Consumer Reports was USELESS in their assessment of this machine.
Review about: Whirlpool Dishwasher.
Monetary Loss: $413.
