I bought a KitchenAid dishwasher in November 2019. The stainless steel tub is now rusting.

I called KitchenAid to make a warranty claim. Kitchenaid a Service by whirl pool. Whirlpool told me the stainless steel tub has a lifetime warranty. Whirlpool scheduled a service call for me for Thursday, August 26.

The next day the local service company called me to reschedule the appointment.

The local service company told me that whirlpool does not have the right to schedule their appointments. So, for starts, someone isnt being honest with me. The meeting was rescheduled for today September 4 between noon and 4

PM.

Today at 10:31 89 minutes before the scheduled appointment window I received the following telephone call:

Hi this is Sean with Paul's appliance service I was calling to confirm someone's available so I can head that way to look at the dishwasher I was unable to reach you if you would please call our office on Tuesday at 866-487-**** thank you

I did call the number that Sean provided for Pauls appliance service, and as expected they were not open today.

I called Seans number a dozen times and received no answer I went directly to voicemail. I also tried to send Sean a text to find out if he still intended to come during the scheduled appointment time.

Here is the text that I sent:

I have an appoint for you to be here between noon and 4 PM. You called before 11 when I was unavailable. I called you back a dozen times and got voicemail telling me to call another number for scheduling, and your voice mailbox is full. Do you still intend to make the scheduled appointment?

This is the response I received: Free Msg: Unable to send message - Message Blocking is active.

So Ive been waiting at my house for the last four hours wondering whether Sean actually intends to honor the appointment that was made, or is decided that since I didnt answer the phone 90 minutes before the scheduled time it was OK for him to simply be a no-show and have the appointment scheduled for some future time.

This may be acceptable to some people, but it most certainly is not acceptable to me.

First, theres the question of whirlpool making an appointment and the company that they made it for saying that whirlpool has no right to make an appointment.

Somebody is lying. I want to know who lied to me. And I want to know it in writing. I think that if whirlpool is entitled to make the appointment and Pauls appliance service decided that they didnt wanna honor it, then theres a problem.

Whirlpool should deal with this and I want to know how they do. On the other hand if whirlpool has no right to schedule an appointment and Pauls appliance service was correct in saying so, then whirlpool owes me an apology.

Second, there is the issue of servicemen Sean calling me 90 minutes before the scheduled appointment. I have no problem with the servicemen calling and asking me if an appointment can be moved to an earlier time. However I have no obligation to except an earlier time, and if the service man cant reach me he sure as *** has no right to cancel the appointment during the regular scheduled time.

I dont know what the truth is here, but it looks like Sean tried to schedule the appointment for earlier and when he couldnt decided to just blow me off. If thats the case then Sean can go to *** and Pauls appliance store should let him go. There is absolutely no excuse for such behavior.

I would like a written explanation from whirl pool as to why the appointment was made and then canceled by their contractor. In particular I wanna know if whirl pool has the right to make the reservation.

If they dont whirlpool lied to me and people should know that whirlpool lies. On the other hand if the service company lied to me and saying that were Paul has no right to make the reservation, then will pull out a deal with that so other customers dont have to deal with this crap.

Then I want whirlpool to explain to me how it can be that they do business with a service company who would treat people this way. I want to know if they still do business with these people.

I want to know if the service company still employed somebody who calls 90 minutes before an appointment, and when he doesnt get a response decides to blow off the scheduled appointment. That is just plain wrong.

User's recommendation: Avoid this company.

Preferred solution: Compensation for a wasted day and a written apology. .

Whirlpool Cons: Unresponsive, Unavailable, No show for scheduled appointment.
