My Whirlpool refrigerator Model WRT311FZDZ01

freezes everything in the refrigerator section. It is two years old. Can quality be any worse than this?

Resolved: Treatment Received concerning Refrigerator less than 4 years old

To Whom It May Concern:

I purchased a refrigerator from you on or about September, 2020. In less than 4 yrs.

the refrigertor has gone out. I am going into my third week without a refrigerator and today the repairman, Carl and Sons said Whirlpool stated the part would take 30 days. I have called about 8 times today trying to find out what Whirlpool could offer me as options. They said, either wait the 30 days or I can cancel the warranty with a cancellation fee.

I asked if I could get it repaired and then be reimbursed. I was told no. I spoke to the repairman and he said WH said the parts were coming to me andthat as his wife said earlier, it would take 30 days. Whirlpool is not acting in good faith or treating customers fairly.

It took three days, being on phone for hours each day, just to get a scheduled repair visit.

First, I called WH and they offered me a warranty. I bought it and they scheduled me for Monday between 8-12 on Aug. 12, 2024. I tried to change the time when a conflict arose but was unable to do so online Sunday evening.

The system said I had to call in. When I called in Tyler, the customer service rep said I had no appointment. Then when I requested service for Tuesday, he said there had to be a 48 hour window, so Thursday was the earliest. I asked for a supervisor, becauseI had already gone over a week without the refrigerator working, but he never let me speak to a supervisor.

He put me on hold and came back and said the supervisor said there are no service providers in my area, so to cancel my warranty and issue a refund.

That is what Tyler did.

I phoned WH and they stated there are 16 service providers in my area, two locally. They offered me another warranty. I bought it. This process took a total of three days over 4 hours each day because I was placed on hold or transferred around, etc.

The repairman came out last Thursday and said it would take a week to get the part.

Yesterday (one week later), he said the part had not come in. Today, he said, Whirlpool said it will take 30 days. I called WH and spoke to 8 people, several transfers disconnected the call and I had to call back. I was on the phone more than 6 hours, speaking to the serviceman getting his SR number that he gave me so that I could check the status of the parts and calling WH, who said they could not find the order based on that SR number or the job number I was given.

Then, I spoke directly to parts and they could not find the information for me either. It is now 3:33 PM on a Friday and the matter is unresolved.

I was following the advice of one of the supervisors that I spoke to this morning, who gave me the Job number and said I should call WH to find out if the part was on back order or not because he didn't have that information. Once I was transferred to that division and the call dropped a few times before I finally got through; when I did get through they said I needed to talk to someone at Domestic and General. It was D&G who told me to talk to Whirlpool.

Everyone passed the buck.

I would have thought Whirlpool would have replaced the refrigerator, sent a substitute or allowed me to pay for repairs myself and refund me. But, I was told none of those options existed.

This is shameful...

Less than 3 year old whirlpool range stopped working, no ovens, burners or clock. Called whirlpool repairman who said if there's no power at all, it's not the appliance, it's the electric and to call an electrician which we did.

The electrician found that the internal wiring had caught fire because it was loose. It was a manufacturing error. He said we could see if whirlpool could repair it, but he wouldn't have it in his house. We went out and bought a G.

E. range for the same $1500 price tag which will be delivered tomorrow. Called whirlpool to complain. We offered to surrender the appliance to them so that they could figure out what went wrong and prevent others from a possibly catatostophic fire.

We were lucky that the fire was contained to the oven and didn't spread beyond the oven. We were told they would send a repairman in two days to see if he could fix it. We don't want it in our house. We asked if they would remove it after their tech had a look at it because we do not intend to pay to have it removed when removal is included in our new purchase.

They said no, removal is our responsibility so we told them to forget it.

Take away is that this company doesn't care at all about delivering a quality product, and is unwilling to take any preventive action to ensure the safety of it's consumers. Unfortunately, just a month ago we purchased a whirlpool washer, but never again.

I am beyond disappointed with my new Whirlpool washer, top loading. I will edit this with the model once I find my receipt.

We bought the extra large capacity, which was a waste. If we load it with more than a medium size load, the clothes do not clean. We keep it set on the bulky item, high water level, every time, since the other settings leave some clothes coming out halfway dry, having never had water touch them. Even though we are careful to keep the load way below the height of the agitator, even this setting does not do a good job.

Please see the pictures I've loaded. These are taken from different loads I've washed. What you see are not stains! It is actually the original dirt (and dog *** I had to clean up.

There is no excuse for this. Oftentimes, some of a load looks like it may have cleaned, while other items in the same load look like this. How on earth can this happen with the type of technology we have these days? We replaced a front load washer that was much smaller capacity with this one, and even though we bought a huge capacity washer, we have to wash smaller loads now.

When we called Whirlpool, they sent out a tech, who tried replacing a couple of things, just in case there was something faulty. It did not help. It works exactly the same. Not sure what to do now, other than take it as a loss and buy something different.

It's only a couple of months old, but this is how poorly it worked since day one.

I hate to leave such a bad review, but this just isn't fair. There's no reason for this washer to perform so poorly.

Extremely poor design of oven and timer

Whirlpool - Extremely poor design of oven and timer - Image 2

I purchased model WFC315S0JS3, a whirlpool range for $777.26 and registered the range on 7-12-2024. My issues are, the oven squeaks while baking, and the timer when set seems to lose a minute when start button pressed.

I have had two servicemen come out on these issues, only to tell me this is in the design of the range, and nothing is broken. I totally believe them. Boy what a shock! I purchased Whirlpool because my old Kenmore was made by them.

I should have bought a GE! I am writing this to alert others who wish to purchase, beware of this model's flaws and shoddy thin metal used in this design.

No Ice

I purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator Freezer two years ago, and it has been nothing short of a disaster. From day one, the ice maker barely worked.

I found myself constantly having to reset it just to get a few cubesif I was lucky. Now, after two years of frustration, the ice maker has completely given up.

Whirlpool's customer service is a nightmare. Every time I reached out, it felt like I was stuck in a loop of vague suggestions and no real solutions. They seemed more interested in passing the buck than helping me fix the problem.

I eventually hired a Whirlpool technician, who came over and did little more than clean the bottom filter. He declared the ice machine broken and handed me a part number to order.

Heres the kicker: the part number he gave me was wrong. So now I'm left waiting even longer for the correct part because of Whirlpool's incompetence. It's ridiculous!

Overall, I regret ever purchasing this refrigerator.

The performance has been subpar from the start, and the customer service experience has been even worse. Save yourself the headachestay far away from Whirlpool products!

All the quality of a zombie brand with customer service to match. Time for the government to crack down on these companies and stop being lenient. Enough is enough.

Updated by user Sep 21, 2024

Nothing has changed. Whirlpool claims that the damage to the seals is cosmetic because there is no condensation on them, despite the provided photos showing otherwise.

And that wasn't them reaching out to me, that was me reaching out to them on social media. The only advice I can give potential buyers is beware.

There's a reason their market share and in store presence continues to decline, because their quality isn't there anymore. Until manufacturers are held accountable for poor workmanship, there will be no improvements.

Original review updated Sep 21, 2024
I just had a tech come out for my 5 month old Whirlpool WRF535SW because the door seals are literally falling apart. However, I was told that rather than repair the seals, they were considered cosmetic and cosmetic is only covered for 30 days.

For spending over $1800 dollars I should have expected more. What good is a warranty?
Edit: Title should say "Crumbling" instead of "Crumbing"
It should be noted that so far, nothing has come of this. Whirlpool refuses to send replacement parts for the defective seals, even claiming the damage is merely cosmetic because there's no condensation on them, despite the photo's showing otherwise. Looking back, the display models in the stores weren't much better.

I guess that should have been a red flag. Maybe that's why they refuse to even send the replacement parts, because they can't make a good seal to begin with.

Cons:
  • Crumbling door seals on new appliance

Freezer malfunction

I got two New Frigidaire's from Myers Appliance on February 13th . Myers is with East Akron neighborhood Development client .

This is a Organization through heap & pip witch is Energy heat for low income. So I'm on both because of low income with I'm on SSID . I got a letter from pip they wanted to check my frigerators To see if they was energy sufficient & I had a week to Respond back to the letter, allowing them to come in and check my refrigerators. If I did not respond they could take me off of my Pip & Heap . So they came out .

My Refrigerators Wasn't energy sufficient . So they set up for me to get two new refrigerators . I got them and at first they both were working fine. Then four days later they thawed everything in my freezer, and both of them did . Maintenance man came looked at them on Tuesday the 19th He Adjusted doing something to the back of them .

They both started to work . I went out bought food & put my things in the freezers & then 3 days later they both stopped working again . And thawed out all my things in the Freezers . So I called Myers back & let them know & they said they would have someone come look at them .

I also called Whirlpool to let you know how much I lost in food & I'm a single mom & I have kids to feed . I used up all my snap benefits & I'm out of food . My ham & food was in there for our East dinner . I can't do much for my kids but make them a good dinner & I can't do that .

So a another Maintenance man came out Friday the 22 of March he said both have to be replaced something about compressors fail . So on Wednesday the 27th of March they bought two new refrigerators out . & I had to call Myers today March 29th because the one Refrigerator is not working its not freezing & Refrigerator part is not cooling . I'm Beyond pissed now .

Because my uncle gave me food & I went to the food Pantry . And now my food is Ruin again . I give up . I called ask for my old Refrigerators to be brought back to my home .

They told me

Mine was in a junkyard . I never in my life thought I would have deal with something like this . 3 Refrigerators for over a month have not worked properly . & they all was brand new .

Whats going on ? My house temp is at 73 in every room & Myers is telling me if the room temp goes down below 50 the freezer shuts off . I never heard of Such a thing I never had any trouble with my Refrigerators in the past in my dinning Room. I say this because it's the 2 Refrigerator.

Replaced

in my dining room . When the Maintenance man came out on the 22 of March he said that room was warm & he look at the Thermostat on the wall in that room . So I asked why is the new kitchen Refrigerator not working.I have a new deep freezer in the same room . My deep freezer is just fine .

So tell me what's really going on . The thing is I understand things can happen but 3 times in a row I've got bad Refrigerators & lost around 900.00 of food & can't get anymore snap till the 20th of April. So how I'm I going to feed my family . Myers is coming out Monday April 1st to look at the new Refrigerator in my dinner room that's not work after again being replaced .

Do you guys have a Batch of these refrigerators. They're just are bad or something's bad on them ? Or just made cheapest you can ? If this Refrigerator has to be replaced again with another one . They can just take these back & I'll rent one & make sure the brand is not Whirlpool .

Don't get me wrong I'm grateful for the help but my old Refrigerators was working just fine .

I wouldn't had to go through all this if it wasn't for these Refrigerators didn't have manufacturer fail & I feel I need Reimburse for the food I lost over a month with these awful Refrigerators when I asked that I was told you can't Reimburse me for Spoiled food . Witch is so wrong this wasn't my fault this happens its your Refrigerators that has made this problem.

New home purchase full of Whirlpool appliances. The side-by-side refrigerator's compressor gave out after 3 months.

Neither the freezer nor the refrigerator works, the fan continuously runs and there are clicking sounds.

It could have caused a fire, burning the house down. Whirlpool hangs up when asked to schedule a repair before the 19th of this month.

Rated one star because 0 wasn't an option. I bought a refrigerator which is only cute on the outside.

The quality is trash. They replaced it 3 times because the ice machine or freezer broke down before 1 year. Also, the freezer door malfunctioned. Now they are giving me the run around.

I've been put on hold for 30 min and both times a recording came on saying call duration has been met and disconnected the call. I feel like I'm being treated unfairly by Whirlpool.

I should have read reviews before I purchased from them. Apparently, this is the norm for them.
