To Whom it may concern: I used the enclosed detergent at the prescribed levels. The residue is worse when it dries, these pictures are with wet clothes.

I don’t dry any of my wife’s clothes to preserve the shapes. I don’t mix light and dark clothes in the same loads due to this problem. I only wash like weight clothes to attempt to reduce lint. It is woven clothes only and have this problem.

If I rewash the items they usually come clean. If anything, I use under the amount of detergent. I have tried too much, just right and not enough and still have the same problem. Sometimes the clothes come out and are barely damp.

I am sorry to learn that you have lint or residue on your dark clothes that come out of your 2013 model WTW8600YW1, serial C25171927. You wanted an email reply so you could send in pictures. As a consumer I can understand your concern. Possible Solutions Did you line dry the load of laundry?

You can expect some lint on your laundered items when line drying. The air movement and tumbling of a dryer removes lint from the laundry load. Were you washing a large load? Consider reducing your load size.

Leave enough space in the washer to allow the laundry items to move freely. Make sure that there are not any laundry items sticking up above the stainless steel basket. A tightly packed load of laundry is more likely to trap lint. Was tissue or paper left in pockets?

Always check all pockets and the interior of the washer before starting a new load of laundry. The lint may be caused by paper or tissues left in pockets. Were there new clothing items in the load of laundry? New clothes tend to create more lint in the first few washes.

Washing new clothing inside out will help reduce the amount of linting in the cycle. Was the load properly sorted? Separate lint-takers from lint-givers. Synthetics, knits, and corduroy fabrics will pick up lint from towels, rugs, and chenille fabrics.

Possible Solutions for White Residue on Clothing There are a few possible root causes of what is commonly referred to as "white residue". Typically, white residue is caused by one of the following: •Excessive lint •Excess detergent •Interaction of body soils with detergent, most frequently found on work out clothing or active wear. Excessive Lint Excessive lint on clothing often occurs on new clothing items, especially towels. This is normal, and lint will dissipate over time.

Use shorter wash times (lower soil levels) if excess lint continues Using a dryer will remove most excess lint. Excess detergent Excess detergent residue can be caused by several different factors, including using too much detergent, and water temperature not hot enough to dissolve detergent. This residue usually appears as white "clumps" of detergent. Rewashing clothing items should remove these clumps.

If using a cold water wash, be sure that water temperature is at least 60 degrees to properly dissolve detergent. This machine will regulate the cold water temperature by adding hot water to bring the temperature up. Run hot water in the sink closest to the washer to help ensure that hot water is running through the water lines near the washer. Always use only High Efficiency HE detergent; try a liquid HE detergent.

Also use the "Clean Washer" cycle with affresh® once a month or as needed to help eliminate excess detergent. Interaction of body soils The interaction of body soils with detergent can result in the formation of a residue that is distinct from lint but may appear similar to detergent. This type of residue has a tendency to accumulate within the folds and wrinkles of garments and may be widely distributed throughout the fabric load and on individual garments. Residue resulting from the interaction of body soils and detergent may actually be more prevalent with the use of warmer water, distinguishing it from typical detergent.

Additionally, this type of residue has a tendency to form within mixed loads (e.g., cottons mixed with synthetic garments), where the lower friction of synthetic fabrics may impede mechanical action. For best results for this type of residue, wash as follows, depending on your machine's cycles: Cycles: Select cycles including Heavy Duty, Power Wash, Deep Water Wash, and Whites, where available. Avoid gentler cycles, such as Delicates, Casuals, and Color Last, where applicable. Use an extra rinse.

Choose the Fabric Softener option even if you are not using a liquid fabric softener. Do not overload the washer. Soil Level: Select higher soil levels (e.g., Heavy, Extra Heavy) when acceptable. Also select: •warm temperature •heavy soil Always use the correct amount of HE liquid detergent.

It was supposed to be one of the top of the line machines made by Whirlpool at the time we bought it. It has left lint residue on black clothing from the first load washed. The last load was washed after cleaning the washer with afresh. It requires a second and third wash to get the residue off Please contact me with an email that I can send pictures to demonstrate the failure of the washing machine to work properly.

I even run an additional rinse cycle every time I do black clothes.
