Purchased a total of six new appliances from Whirlpool in 2012. Five out of the six have had various problems that Whirlpool would not fix.

Yesterday our electric range stopped working model # GFE461LV. The oven board went completely black, no lights, no clock and no way to operate the oven. Two weeks ago this same situation occurred and a technician looked at the range , but did not find anything wrong with it. He said it had a loose wire.

Supposedly he corrected the problem. Now two weeks later the same problem has occurred. NO oven....nothing! When we purchased this range within the first week of use the same situation occurred and the supplier replaced the unit.

Should have taken the hint at that time. The worst part is yet to come! The oven control board and key pad controller are broken. Cost to repair is over $700.00 in addition to what was already spent to diagnose the problem from two weeks ago.

It cost more to repair this junk than to purchase a new unit.

Purchase a new GE range last evening. NEVER will EVER buy another Whirlpool appliance and will encourage everyone I know to stay away from them as well.

Review about: Whirlpool Gfe461lv Range.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Monetary Loss: $568.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

I didn't like: Quality and performance.

No resolution from Whirlpool. Just more rhetoric.

Now they want the model number which I supplied and the serial number which was supplied at the time I registered the appliances. Another stall tactic. I want nothing to do with this company or the junk they produce. Now having a problem with the Maytag washer we purchased 4 years ago, made by Whirlpool.

Two years ago, the main drive transmission had to be replaced and now the washer is making the same noise and beginning to leak fluid again. Washer is used maybe three times a week. Just my me and my wife. Whirlpool has offered to cover the part under warranty, but the diagnostic charge and labor would have to be covered by me.

REALLY, a 4 year old washer with main drive transmission problems twice in that period. Whirlpool should offer to replace the washer at no cost. The last waher and dryer we owned were made by Electrolux under the name of White Westinghouse. No problems for over 10 years of 24/7 usage by teenage daughters.

Go figure. NO MAYTAG appliances again either!!

Not going to bother wasting one more moment of my time responding to your inquiry about my appliances produced by Whirlpool. I have already given the model number GFE 461 LVS 0.

The control board and touch pad have failed according to the Whirlpool authorized technician. The parts are more than a new electric range. How convenient. It is the holiday season and my wife needs the oven to bake.

Don't have time to wait around for your sorry excuses and delays to repair another piece of junk!

Bought a new range and installed. GE!!
