Whirlpool refrigerator compressor failed at 3 years old.

Compressor failed on side by side ref ED5VHEXVB04 after only 3 years of use. 1200 labor and another 550 for the part. I'll be buying a different brand this time. Oven Control Board Stupidity

I have a 12-year-old Whirlpool "gold" double oven that is in terrific shape except the control board burned out on it. When available it was a $360 part. In 12 years, I can understand how such an electronic part could fail though if I could buy a device without one i.e. the old ovens that had "bake" and "temperature" settings that could be expected to last 50 years I would. Flash forward - Sears tech told me 1) the factory in Japan had been wiped by the tsunami (2011) and that the parts are no longer available. If they cared, they could have formed a production facility. Sears further told me they could not repair the board. Replacement oven - $2,000 at the low end. To me, replacing such a capital kitchen device over a relatively minor part reeked of corporate market building. Relevant questions - Why don't they use the SAME part for multiple years to minimize the difficulty of keeping parts on hand? Why not support a $2,000+ device that YOU built? I know the reason - if the oven is not supported I'll have to buy another and we all know THAT'S where the money is. Well Whirlpool - I found a place that could repair the board and now the oven works perfectly. You have lost a customer for life. I know you don't care, your proformas assume dropouts. So long as even half your customers keep coming back you're money ahead right? Yay win stockholders!! ***.

Whirlpool Cabrio Dryer mod# WED5500XW0

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Over the course of 2 years and a replacement dryer (2 dryers total) my Whirlpool Cabrio dryer has had to have the fuse that is used as a fire hazard safety device replaced 12 times and it is currently down again for the same problem. When I contacted Whirlpool to work the problem out, I was informed that I have a 4 year old dryer (My first Cabrio was purchased in 2011 and in 2013 after 12 repairs it was replaced with an identical make) and being 4 years old, it is 3 years past the manufacturers warranty.

The first dryer I had 2 years and continually had the same part replaced a dozen times of which no records were maintained. When the second dryer was delivered and installed, I was given the same speech about the dryer vent and the lint trap. They discussed never interrupting the cycle without turning it off or pausing it first. And the list goes on and on.

I am such a dryer freak that I refuse to use dryer sheets because they gum up the dryers and start fires. Whirlpool said that after the first year all problems experienced are the customers responsibility and they didn't care that this was the same ongoing problem. They said it was a different dryer. How can this be a different dryer.

Every dryer in this model # has the same components inside it. Therefore potentially causing the same fire hazard if this safety fuse doesn't do its job and shut everything down. Then causing the same repair expense for every dryer owner that has purchased this model. Sounds like a scheme to make $ when sales dropped from an unstable financial situation in the United States.

I contacted 3 different people within whirlpool, gradually climbing the ladder and NONE of them seemed to think that this was a problem. I was even told that they didn't believe me. I wasn't looking for a new dryer the first time when they replaced it, so that makes me think that someone somewhere felt there was a serious concern. All I wanted them to cover was the repairman's fees.

I would cover the parts. I am not an unreasonable person but you can not tell me that no one else is having this exact problem.

NOW, when I explained that I had read MANY online complaints about their product, they responded with "nothing posted online by consumers is considered a factual complaint and they will not take them into consideration. This is a serious issue and needs to be addressed!

Warrenty sucks

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
About 30 days ago our 10 month old dishwasher stopped functioning correctly. We called the 800 number and started the process, after waiting from Wens til Monday we had a repair at the door, within a few minutes he had figured out the problem. However he did not have that part so he would order it and call us. One week later we call him, only to find it was there but not logged in so repair was unaware, now that he knew he was there the next day. Again it was a Monday morning and he arrived early and spent 3 1/2 hours only to find that the part that was shipped was also bad. He would order another while we wait, a so another week passes and Whirlpool claims we just have to wait because the warrenty only covers parts not replacements.

Your peple need training

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We bought a whirlpool microwave. $350.00 at Best Buy. Stopped working in 5 months. I had sent in the registration card. Rest of paper work packed away in storage for a move. Called the 866 #. Put on hold for near one hour. Gave model # and serial #. Operator said need additional digits in serial #. Three intelligent people looked at the serial #. Called back - another 45 minute wait. Told they would send someone in 10 days but they would not verify we had warranty. Called TN 800 number. Totally useless. Asked for supervisor. Ericka. Said they could do nothing to help me. This after the first person put me on hold for 15 minutes before Ericka picked up. No help. Called headquarters. Woman Yvette said it was the law - and that the model Best Buy had sold us was 4 years old! What do I do? Told by repair people I would be paying $120 plus any parts. No one they are doing poor - look at all of the complaints!

My six month old dishwasher broke and tried to get it fixed but they only will come during the day when I work. I tried to get them to come late and the guy laughed at me and said rebook. So rude and dumb. |I tried to talk to a supervisor and they gave me to someone else and it seemed like just another service person. I asked for a manager and they said there wasn't one. What the heck kind of company is this. I have a phone call into the place where I bought it I dont know what else to do Arg arg arg arg arg arg arg arg arg arg arg arg

Auqualift does not clean

Unfortunately I wasn't able to pick out the appliance in the new house. The Aqualift Clean DOES NOT clean at all.

Sucks actually. Does absolutely nothing. Wish I had my old oven with self clean back. I never had to clean an oven in 30 years till now.

Horrible and misleading product description.

Will never buy again. x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x

Whirlpool products overall are poorly made products but the Whirlpool aqualift does not clean. I'm back in the old days scrubbing my oven. Do not buy an aqualift oven.

Guest

aqua clean does not work. I will NEVER by a whirlpool appliance again

Guest

I believe they should recall all of these aqua clean ranges and replace them with a normal self clean oven. they do it with lemon cars they should do it with lemon appliances.

Have a Nice Day

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I bought a Whirlppol washer WTW5500XWD in 2011. It had to be replaced in 2015. I contacted several departments asking for a 5-yr free warranty on a new one. All requests were refused. This is unfair to the consumer. There seemed to be pat answers. Why doesn't Whirlpool invest in technicians instead of training people to handle complaints? The thing that infuriated me was not that Sue @ "Trust Keepers" dept said that it's company policy ~ But she ended the conversation with "Have a good day." Why are these policies made to protect Whirlpool and not to put out a good product?

New Refrigerator, no cooling

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Decided to try a Whirlpool refrigerator after our 2 year old Samsung refrigerator was declared a lemon after 6 trips by repairmen to try and fix icemaker (another story for another time). After 18 hours of trying, the new refrigerator is not cooling. I called Whirlpool yesterday asking how long before i would notice a temperature difference and was told 24 hours. Asked if I should at least be feeling cold air in the freezer area, i was told by the woman on the line 24 hours. All she could say was 24 hours. When asked when could i set up a repair call, it was 48 hours. I felt this was pretty rude behavior and a comment by a person not familiar with appliances. I called the store where we have bought both refrigerators, HH Gregg in Virginia Beach Virginia, last night and told them the refrigerator was not cooling down. I was asked to wait overnight to see if it would begin cooling down and then call them on Sunday morning. I demanded that if it was not cooling down i wanted another refrigerator delivered Sunday and was told they do not deliver on Sundays. I guess my food going bad is no concern of anyone's. Hopefully this was just a one time bad experience with Whirlpool, but it is not starting out well. Bad taste in my mouth already. I would like some compensation for this poor experience, but we all know how that will turn out.

Whirlpool - Refrigerator Review from Wilmington, Delaware

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have had my French door whirlpool refrigerator for a little over a year and have had a lot of problems with it. First was a leak and problem with the water line attached to the refrigerator. The most consistent (and annoying) problem is that the freezer door (for no obvious reason) will not shut!!!! This has happened 3 or 4 times and I am tired of loosing frozen foods (defrosting) and having a wet floor from melting ice. At this time it is highly unlikely that I will ever purchase another whirlpool appliance.

Bought a top load whirlpool washer and it was a big mistake

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
2 years ago I bought a whirlpool top load washer at Best Buy. and have had nothing but problems. With It I bought the geek squad Ext Warranty. They came to my home 4 times to repair it within the 2 yrs and were not able to. I asked them to give me a new one and they would not, being it was still under warranty and they waited till the 2yrs expired for them not to give me a new one. I called the company and they would not help me (Whirlpool) So what I did is buy a new one GE. Guaranteed I will never buy Whirlpool again (Whirlpool bought Maytag and Kenmore)

Whirlpool is awful!!!!! NEVER buy anything from them.

They claim to be environmental friendly but I can't get cold water in my washer and they tell me that is how the washer was made. The tap cold says it should be tap water from your faucet but I get hot water and Whirlpool says that is how the washer is designed.

They make up whatever they want. It doesn't matter what the manual says!!!!
