Kitchen Aid Gas Oven has fault with self clean
Mar 25, 2008
Whirlpool complaint by Jillybean
I recently remodeled my kitchen and installed what I thought were going to be top of the line Kitchen Aid appliances, heaven knows I paid enough for them! My experience has been less than satisfactory, in particular I am concerned with a fault with my gas oven.

During a normal, self clean cycle the ‘thermo fuse’ can trip which causes the oven to shut down, the control panel is inoperable and the door remains locked. This fault is repaired at your cost, $150 up to several hundred dollar repair bill.

Kitchen Aid are unwilling to discuss the problem in any detail and tell me the problem is fixed and I have a standard 90 day warranty, I don’t believe the ‘fix’ has resolved the problem. I am aware of other Kitchen Aid owners with identical problems and I would like to gather similar cases together to present a case to KitchenAid.

If you have had this fault or know of anyone with a KitchenAid Gas oven please refer them to this page!

I had the exact same problem. I turned on the self-cleaning and now the oven won't work and the door is locked. They won't help at all. Did you sort it out?
